Task: Obtain Standard Change Approval
A Standard Change is a change to a service or infrastructure for which the approach is pre-authorized by Change Management. Obtaining approvals per defined authorization level, therefore is minimal due to the nature of the change.

Standard Changes are usually pre-approved by Change Management. Therefore, they do not need to undergo Change Advisory Board approvals on a case-by-case basis. In most cases, Standard Changes are received as Service Requests and the Request Handler can authorize the change based on the guidance provided for Standard Change (in the Change Management Procedures). In certain cases, however, if additional authorization is required, the Change Manager can be contacted for the same.
